Prior to joining Schulman and Associates as a law clerk in 2007 and as an attorney in 2009. While she focuses her career on representing children and parents in custody and child protection matters, Alina also enjoys working in a variety of other practice areas, including personal injury and business. Alina graduated from the University of Rochester (B.S., 2006) where she earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She received her law degree from Western New England College School of Law (J.D. 2009). While in law school, Ms. Bricklin-Goldstein received the CALI award for outstanding achievement in the study of Juvenile Law.
Prior to joining Schulman and Associates, she worked at intellectual property law firms in both Albany, NY, and Hartford, CT.
Although raised in the Albany, New York area, Alina was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and emigrated to the United States as a young child. As a result, she is fluent in both English and Russian. She hopes to one day return to the city where she spent the early years of her life.
Ms. Bricklin-Goldstein is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and State of New York. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Alina is a Certified Guardian ad Litem and Attorney for Minor Child. She has attended numerous training and seminars in the areas of child protection and child welfare, and child custody matters, including those hosted by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and the Connecticut Office of the Public Defender. Since 2010, Alina has represented more than 450 children and parents in child protection litigation involving the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
In her spare time, Attorney Bricklin-Goldstein enjoys traveling with her husband, and running in local races – her favorite is the October Hartford Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k.
